Crisis!
I can't decide what to read next. I've started The Waves, and started Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, and started The Mystery of the Princes by Audrey Williamson, but I don't seem to be in the mood for any of these. Help! I need suggestions. This have never happened to me before.
You can see my "too be read" pile here. What should I go for?

I know how you feel, I had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago! Got halfway through Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Castle Dor, and then The Luzhin Defense but wasn't in the mood for any of them. Non-fiction got me out of my slump in the end - Books, Baguettes & Bedbugs: The Left Bank World of Shakespeare & Co (Jeremy Mercer). This isn't on your list, but I'll recommend it anyway. Good luck :)

Definitely go for Patrick Suskind's Perfume. I read it over ten years ago and still rave about it. It's especially meaningful if you have a keen sense of smell (as I do). Great story!
